BB governor off to Qatar to attend CoP-18

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman on Saturday left here for Qatar to attend the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference- CoP-18 (Conference of the Parties) being held in Doha. 
The central bank governor will join the Bangladesh delegation, led by Environment and Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, and attend various sessions from December 2 to December 7, a BB senior official told BBN in Dhaka.
Apart from sharing his experiences on climate change issues and BB’s green banking activities, the governor will have talks with Qatar central bank governor on various banking issues to strengthen Bangladesh’s banking sector.
Dr. Atiur is expected to return home on December 8.
