Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The country’s both bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – closed higher on Tuesday with improving turnover value.

The DSE General Index (DGEN) ended at 4,142.07 points, adding 25.82 points or 0.62 per cent as the market opened with positive which was stable up to end.

The turnover of the premier bourse — DSE stood at BDT 1.52 billion at the end of the day’s trading session, which was 50.49 per cent increased from previous session’s 5-year lowest turnover.

Of the 269 issues traded on the premier bourse, 178 advanced, 62 declined and 29 remained unchanged.

United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 71.17 million changing hands.

ACI was the day’s highest gainer posting a rise of 9.15 per cent while Prime Finance First Mutual Fund was the worst loser, plunging by 9.70 per cent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed higher with the Selective Categories Index of the CSE gained 32.43 points to close at 8,018.90 points.
Gainers beat losers 94 to 57 with 19 issues remaining unchanged on the port city bourse with BDT 160.89 million in turnover.

 On Monday, DGEN lost 20 points with turnover hitting new low to BDT 1.01 billion to 5-year lowest.
