Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Monday launched its Bangla website along with existing English website to provide market information in mother language to investors.
The DSE president Rakibur Rahman formally inaugurated the Bangla website at DSE premises. DSE senior vice president Ahmad Rashid Lali, vice president Md Shajahan, chief executive officer (current charge) Shuvro Kanti Chowdhury and brokerage house representatives were present among others.
“Most of the general investors do not know English well. So they are demanding Bangla for a long time. We have decided launch the Bangla website three days ahead of the International Mother Language Day,” said Rahman.
There are many investors who like to get or see the market information in Bangla, he said. “The intention is to prioritise the mother language,” he said.
However, the investors can also use the existing English website, the DSE president said.
Apart from getting daily stock updates, the investors will also find the history of the stock exchange, investor guidelines, profiles of the market, functionalities and activities, trading system, indices methodology and corporate news also available in Bangla.
