Bangladesh’s stocks open with positive mood

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in the early hours on Tuesday amid nationwide hartal.

The benchmark Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went up by 34.32 points or 0.86 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,982.06 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 133 advanced, 12 declined and 16 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 273 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Unique Hotel and Resorts topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 37 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also   opened with a positive trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE gained 68 points to stand at 7,723 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 58 advanced, 12 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
