Green Delta approves 100 percent stock dividend

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Green Delta Insurance Company Limited (GDICL) on Sunday approved 100 per cent stock dividend for its shareholders for the year 2008.

The approval came at the 23rd annual general meeting (AGM) of the company at a city hotel, the company said.

GDICL Chairman M Muhibur Rahman presided over the meeting, while its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nasir A Choudhury spoke on the occasion.

The GDICL managing director highlighted the company's operational performance in 2008 and outlined its future plans to boost operational efficiency and profitability.

The company earned a gross premium of BDT 1,400.75 million, while its assets and reserves increased to BDT 2872.50 million and BDT 1624.98 million in 2008 respectively.

Investment income accelerated to BDT 253.29 million and underwriting profit to BDT 106.16 million. The company's earning per share stood at BDT 120.06.
