New Delhi, India (BBN)- India confirmed 16 more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Sunday, taking the total cases to 429, the health ministry said.
Of the 16 cases that tested positive for swine flu, seven came from Pune, four from New Delhi, two from Kozhikode and each one from Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Bangalore, according to a health ministry press statement.
So far, 1996 people have been tested, of which 429 have tested positive for Influenza A (H1N1), 421 out of the 1996 tested have been identified through entry screening, 353 people through contact tracing and the rest were self reported, the statement added.
"Of the 429 positive cases, 298 have been discharged," the ministry said, adding that rests of them remain admitted.
