New Delhi, India (BBN)- India confirmed 16 more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Tuesday, taking the total cases to 574, the health ministry said.
Of the 16 new cases that tested positive for swine flu, six came from Pune, three from New Delhi, two from each Mumbai, Chennai and Gurgaon and one from Trivandrum, according to a health ministry press statement.
So far, 2528 people have been tested, of which 574 are positive for Influenza A (H1N1), 581 out of the 2528 tested have been identified through entry screening, 549 people through contact tracing and the rest were self reported, the statement noted.
"Of the 574 positive cases, 470 have been discharged. One case has died," the ministry said, adding that rest of them remains admitted to the identified health facility.
