Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – AB Bank Ltd is keeping importance on bringing women in the banking network at Banking Fair-2015 by popularising it’s newly-introduced savings product namely “Shampurna”.
Home maker, women entrepreneurs, working professionals, teachers, self-employed women are eligible to open the account under the new product with the bank, Md Salim Uddin, principle officer of the AB Bank, told the BBN during the ongoing fair.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair on Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The bank is offering free insurance coverage amounting to BDT 1.85 lakh for the women client under the product, Salim said.
The maximum rate of interest of the saving product is 7 per cent and the client will not be charged to maintain the account.
The women client will be given free debit card for cash withdrawal from the ATM booths.
The bank is also highlighting two separate saving products for the student.
The students, aged below 18-years, will be allowed to open saving account with the bank by depositing BDT 100 while the students above 18 years will have to keep BDT 500.
The maximum rate of interest of the saving product is 8 per cent.
The bank will provide free debit card, internet banking and SMS banking.
