Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (CAB) has elected Md. Abdus Salam as President and Showkat Hossain, Muhammad Farooq and Gopal Chandra Ghosh as Vice Presidents of the institute for the year -2013.
They were elected by the newly elected council members shortly before holding its 40th Annual General Meeting at ICAB auditorium in the capital Dhaka on Saturday with its outgoing President Syful Islam in the chair.
Md. Abdus Salam FCA was born in 1954. After completion of B. Com (Hon’s) and M. Com in Accounting from the University of Dhaka, he studied Chartered Accountancy course from ICAB. Salam became an Associate Member in 1989 and Fellow Member of the ICAB in 1994.
Showkat Hossain FCA was born in 1949. He became an Associate Member in 1977 and Fellow Member in 1986 of the ICAB. Presently he is the Resident Partner of Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co. Chartered Accountants.
Gopal Chandra Ghosh FCA was born in 1969. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Viyellatex Group. Previously he worked as Financial Controller of Lafarge Surma Cement, Deputy Director of Studies (T&R) and project Director of ICAB. Mr. Gopal became the Associate Member in 1997 and Follow Member of ICAB in 2002. Gopal is also the Fellow Member (FCMA) of ICMAB.
