Last updated: November 23, 2012
Khulna, Bangladesh (BBN)- Medium pacer Abul Hasan emerged as the first batsman who scored highest Test debut run of 113 as No. 10 batsman after breaking the previous record of former Australian cricketer Reginald Alexander Duff, who made his Test debut against England at Melbourne in 1901-02 scoring 104.

Abul Hasan struck his debut ton that came against West Indies in the second ongoing Test in Khulna.

He, however, failed to reach another limelight as he along with his senior partner Mahmudullah failed to break the World record runs for the 9th wicket partnership for only 12 runs as West Indian skipper Darren Sammy dismissed Mahmudullah Riyad for 77.

The 9th wicket partnership world record is being held by South African duo Pat Symcox and Mark Boucher in 1998 against Pakistan.

Nonetheless, Abul Hasan and Mahmudullah became the third highest scorer for 9th wicket stand. The second best stand is being held by Asif Iqbal and Intikhab Alam scoring 190 runs in 1967 famous Oval Test.
