Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is interested to work in Bangladesh for the development of IT sector to produce skilled manpower towards the journey of “Digital Bangladesh”.
A three-member ADB delegation, led by Rudi Van Dael, Senior Social Sector Specialist, Bangladesh Mission, shown their keenness while meeting UGC (University Grant Commission) Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at the latter’s office on Wednesday.
Other members of the delegation were ADB Social Sector Specialist, Human and Social Development Division, South Asia Department Ryotaro Hayashi and Consultant Dr. Muhiuddin Alamgir, UGC said in a press statement on Thursday.
They also discussed strengthening university-industry linkage and various aspects of higher education including curriculum and syllabus development, teaching-learning and enrollment.
UGC Chairman said skills in all areas of IT sector are highly needed to survive in this globalized world.
ADB expects to initiate the proposed project from July 2017 for skill development in Bangladesh.
UGC Members Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Professor Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali, and UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled, among others, were present.
