ADB to provide $250m for Bangladesh capital market development

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is set to provide US$250 million to Bangladesh for its capital market development, officials said on Saturday.
An agreement will be signed between Bangladesh government and the ADB at the NEC-II Conference Room, Economic Relations Division (ERD), Ministry of Finance, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
The ADB will provide the fund under its Third Capital Market Development Programme (CMDP-3) aiming to enhance capacity and size of the market, they added.
“The specific objective of the proposed CMDP-3 is the enhanced capacity and size of the capital market that is grounded on a strong legal and regulatory framework,” a official told BBN in Dhaka.
