Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The InterContinental, the luxury hotel brand, is going to take over Hotel Ruposhi Bangla within nearly a year.

Bangladesh Services Ltd, the incumbent management of five-decade old hotel, signed an agreement with InterContinental Hotel Group in 2012 in this regard.

Before the handover, the hotel will remain close for more than a year from September for renovation.

After the completion of the renovation work, the InterContinental will return to manage the hotel situated on Mintoo Road in Dhaka.

The hotel will remain close to guests during renovation period.

InterContinental was in charge of what is now Ruposhi Bangla from 1966 to 1983 after which it was succeeded by Sheraton.

Bangladesh Services Ltd took charge after Sheraton left on April, 2011, 28 years after running the hotel.
