Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Ahsanul Islam Titu has been elected the new president of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Saturday.

Ahsanul Islam, also the chairman of Mona Financial Consultancy & Securities Ltd, replaces Md Rakibur Rahman.

Md Shajahan, managing director of Jahan Securities and Md Mizanur Rahman Khan, managing directors of Dhanmondi Securities were elected senior vice president and vice president respectively.

Twelve directors, including newly-elected four directors, elected the president, senior vice-president and a vice-president of the DSE Saturday at the annual general meeting (AGM) held at a city hotel.

Earlier, on June 10, four new directors were elected through direct voting. The newly elected directors are Sharif Anowar Hossain of Sahidullah Securities, Azizul Hoque of B & B Enterprise, Khugesta Nur-E-Naharin of Modern Securities and Shahed Abdul Khaleque of Shahed Securities.
