Airtel launches SMS-based access to Wikipedia in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company has announced the launch of the first ever SMS-based access to Wikipedia content for customers in Bangladesh.

With this, 5 million plus Airtel mobile customers will be the first in the country to leverage this unique service and easily search anything on Wikipedia via SMS — without the need of subscribing to mobile internet or GPRS services, the company said.
