Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Khalid Rahim has recently been elected as an independent director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank and chairman of the board audit committee, the bank said.
Mr. Rahim is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of ICAB (Bangladesh).

Currently he is a senior consultant of Rahman Rahman Huq, Chartered Accountants, KPMG Bangladesh.

Mr. Rahim has previously served as managing director at Barclays de Zoete Wedd Ltd (now Barclays Capital), the investment banking arm of Barclays Bank, one of the largest UK based banking groups.

He later served a UK-based financial services group engaged in private equity and fund management as group chief executive, the private commercial bank said in a statement.

Mr. Rahim is a graduate of Nottingham University, UK. He also achieved a BA honours degree in economics and an MA in finance and investments from Exeter University, UK.
