Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, the ruling party lawmaker from Gaibandha-2 constituency, has been appointed as the new whip of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (parliament).
President Md Abdul Hamid approved her appointment Tuesday night, said Whip Atiur Rahman Atik.
Gini was first elected as the parliament member in 2009.
Earlier on January 24, ASM Feroz, the lawmaker from Patuakhali 2 constituency, was made the chief whip of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad.
A gazette notification has been published regarding her appointment as a Whip, according to the Parliament Secretariat.
The other whips are Atiur Rahman Atik, Iqbalur Rahim, Shahab Uddin, Solaiman Haque and Shahiduzzaman Sarker.
