Pietermaritzburg, South Africa (BBN)-Fast bowler Mohammad Saifuddin's four wickets and a 124-run second-wicket stand between Saif Hassan and Nazmul Hossain Shanto gave Bangladesh U-19 an eight-wicket win in Pietermaritzburg and a 3-1 lead in the seven-match series against South Africa U-19.
In the chase of a modest 171, Nazmul remained unbeaten on a 94-ball 69, guiding Bangladesh home with 58 balls to spare, reports ESPNcricinfo.
After choosing to bat, South Africa got off to a disastrous start, losing three wickets in the first six overs.
However, Liam Smith played anchor as he formed partnerships of 59 with Dayyaan Galiem and 37 with Kyle Verreynne (34 not out).
His 137-ball 59 was ended in the 44th over at the score of 126 for 6.
South Africa lost three wickets at the score of 163 in the space of four balls and eventually managed to muster 170.
Pinak Ghosh was dismissed in the 10th over of the chase for 15, but South Africa struggled to take wickets thereafter - the next coming in the 39th over.
Hassan and Nazmul struck 14 boundaries between them before Hassan was caught off Brandon Glover.
Nazmul and Mehedi Hasan hit the remaining runs completing a dominating win.
