Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Alliance Francaise, Dhaka has chalked out a 12-day program to celebrate ‘fete de la musique’ or world music festival-2009 in the capital.
In the festival, music professionals and amateurs will perform musical events in the evening at different city spots from June 21 to July 2.
Dhaka University, classic event management and Gulshan Club have joined hands to make the event a success.
In Monday’s evening, Gazi Abdul Hakim, a noted ‘bansi’ player will perform at the galerie of alliance France, Dhaka.
Some other noted vocalists and instrumentalists will perform in the forthcoming evenings. Gazi is a noted player of wind instruments such as bansi, made from bamboo and has the rare distinction of presenting a musical event of it in the house of commons in 1994.
