Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur arrested

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Police arrested Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of Bangla daily Amar Desh, at his Karwan Bazar office in the capital on Thursday morning.
The arrest was made following a case filed over Mahmudur’s alleged involvement with the Skype scam, Abu Yusuf Hossain, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media centre, reportedly confirmed.
The case was filed on December 14 with Tejgaon Police Station.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police raided Mahmudur’s office around 9:00am and picked him up, said Nasima Sultana, additional deputy commissioner of DMP media centre.
Mahmudur is taken at the DB headquarters at Minto Road immediately after his arrest, Nasima added.
