Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The third ‘America Week 2012’ will begin in the country’s port city Chittagong on Monday.

US Embassy in Dhaka will organize the ‘America Week 2012’ from January 30 to February 1, according to a US embassy press statement.

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan Mozena and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) mayor M Manjur Alam will inaugurate the week at MA Aziz Stadium Complex in Chittagong on January 30.

They will jointly address a press conference at 9:00 am at the MA Aziz Stadium Complex Office Building on Monday.

Following a tradition of past America Weeks, the public can visit more than 60 booths run by the U.S. Embassy, USAID and its development partners, and U.S. companies.  The booths and most presentations will be at the M A Aziz Stadium Complex in Chittagong.  

Booths will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 30 and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 31 and February 1.  Admission to all America Week events is free.

This will be the third time that U.S. Chittagong has hosted America Week, having previously hosted in 2006 and 2002.  Previous America Week programs have been held in Khulna, Rajshahi, Barisal and Sylhet.
