Another burglary in Bogra Sonali Bank through tunnel

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Robbers took away BDT 3.251 million from a Sonali Bank branch in the country’s northern Bogra district by digging a tunnel into the bank’s vault on Friday night.

Police said they have found the around 10-yard tunnel connecting the vault with a nearby furniture shop.

Two Ansar members, who were on security of the bank in Adamdighi upazila, the owner and an employee of the furniture house were picked up this evening, according to reports.

Earlier on January 24, robbers made away with BDT 164 million from the Kishoreganj branch of the state-owned commercial bank by digging a tunnel into the bank’s vault.
