Aramit Cement approves 10% stock dividend

Chittagong, Bangladesh (BBN) - The 16th annual general meeting of Aramit Cement Limitedwas held on Saturday in the country’s port city Chittagong. 
The meeting was presided over by Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Chairman and Managing Director of the company. The meeting was also attended by the directors and a large number of shareholders. 
During the year the company has sold 179,485 MT cement amounting to BDT 978.19 million and earned after tax profit of BDT 50.77 million. 
On the other hand during the year company has exported 37,125 MT cement to Tripura, India and the company contributed an amount of BDT 215.08 million to the National Exchequer in the from of Customs Duty, Value Added Tax and Advance Income Tax at source. 
The shareholders approved 10 percent stock dividend for the year 2011 along with the proposal for issuance of 1:1 Rights Share (i.e. one Right Share against each existing share of the Company) at issue price of BDT 15.00 each including a premium of BDT 5.00 per share subject to the approval of SEC.
