Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Production at Ashuganj Fertilizer factory remained suspended since Thursday night following a fire incident in the factory.

The fire broke out following an explosion at its ammonia plant at about 9:00pm (local time) creating panic among the workers. The fire service unit of the factory doused the flame after a few minutes of hectic efforts, according to reports.

The engineers and technicians are working round the clock to resume the productions of the factory, officials confirmed.

With this, production in the fertilizer factory was suspended for eight times due to various technical faults in the last three months.

The factory, which is one of the key fertilizer suppliers of the country, can produce around 1,400 metric tons of Urea per day.
