Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The four Asian cricketing giants begin their rivalry for continental glory from Sunday with Pakistan facing hosts Bangladesh in the opening match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the capital Dhaka.
This is the eleventh edition of the regional competition and has returned to the country after 12 years. Bangladesh was hosts in 1988 and 2000 previously.
Defending champions India and Sri Lanka have also arrived on Saturday and it is likely that for the first time in many years, the big guns as well as the Tigers have a lot at stake in this competition.
The cricketing corridors in Bangladesh took a festive look again in less than two weeks after the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) ended as all the Asian Test-playing teams are now in the capital.
