Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A three-day tourism fair of Asian countries will begin in the capital Dhaka on Friday to promote tourism of the region globally, organizers said.
More than 10 Asian countries will participate in the show — Second Asian Tourism Fair — at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.
Monthly magazine Parjatan Bichitra is organizing the event in association with Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TIVET) Reform Project of the International Labour Organisation, Dhaka.
“The fair will help the tourism industry of Bangladesh strengthen networking mechanisms with the industry partners of other Asian countries,” Mohiuddin Helal, chief organiser of the fair, said at a press conference at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Monday.
Apart from Bangladesh, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hotels and other service providers from the private and public sectors of Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, China and Nepal will participate in the fair.
Mr. Hela also said the year some additional features will be added to the fair as the ILO has decided to launch its ‘tourism toolkit’ on the opening day.
With a BDT 20 entry fee, the 130-stall fair will remain open from 11am to 7:00 pm.
