Atiqul elected as BGMEA President

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- M Atiqul Islam, managing director (MD) of the Islam Dresses Ltd, and Nasir Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, MD of Frank Apparel Ltd, have been elected president and first vice president of BGMEA, the key trade body of the country’s apparel sector, for the next two years.

SM Mannan Kochi has been elected second vice president, while M Shahidul Azim and Reaz Bin Mahmud have been elected vice presidents of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), an announcement said on Thursday.

The new leaders will take over formally at BGMEA’s annual general meeting on March 25.
