Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Visiting Australia thrashed Bangladesh by seven wickets in the ICC World Twenty20 at Mirpur in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Bangladesh’s defeat came on their fourth and last match in the T20 tournament at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur

Earlier, Bangladesh set a target of 154 for Australia losing five wickets in their fourth and last match in the T20 tournament.
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan helped the off-colour Tigers to accumulate the target as they lost their top orders in the beginning of the match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
At the beginning of the match, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat against Australia in the match, the final fixture for the two sides after they were eliminated from semi-final contention. Both are yet to win a match in the tournament reports espncricinfo.com.
The Australians, warm pre-tournament favourites before their losses to Pakistan, West Indies and India, left out the Victorians Brad Hodge and James Muirhead in favour of Dan Christian and Nathan Coulter-Nile. This left Glenn Maxwell as the team's only spinner of any sort.
Bangladesh, seeking a win to appease their increasingly agitated home supporters, were unable to consider Mashrafe Mortaza due to a knee problem and also called up Mominul Haque and debutant Taskin Ahmed.

Australia 1 Aaron Finch, 2 David Warner, 3 Shane Watson, 4 George Bailey (capt), 5 Glenn Maxwell, 6 Dan Christian, 7 James Faulkner, 8 Brad Haddin (wk), 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Nathan Coulter-Nile, 11 Doug Bollinger

Bangladesh 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Anamul Haque, 3 Mominul Haque, 4 Shakib Al Hasan, 5 Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), 6 Nasir Hossain, 7 Mahmudullah, 8 Taskin Ahmed, 9 Abdur Razzak, 10 Sohag Gazi, 11 Al-Amin Hossain
