Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- With the completion of the autopsy on Jihad’s body on Sunday morning, the autopsy conductors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue came up with the suggestion that the four-year-old boy died from drowning.
The autopsy was completed by a three-member team of the Forensic Department of DMCH, led by its chair Professor Dr Habibuzzaman, on Sunday morning and the body of Jihad was handed over to the boy’s maternal uncle Monir Hossain at 10:30am (local time).
Talking to media Dr. Habibuzzaman said the child died due to drowning in the water. Though, there were marks of a minor injury in the back of the head.
Jihad’s uncle Monir Hossain said that Jihad’s body is being taken to his ancestral home at Goshairhat upazila in Shariatpur district.
Nearly 23 hours after four-year-old boy Jihad slipped into a deep pipe of an abandoned railway pump at Shahjahanpur Railway Colony in Dhaka, private rescuers retrieved his body after their hectic efforts on Saturday afternoon.
