Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) has donated over BDT 240 million to liberation War Museum.
The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the cheques on behalf the museum at Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on Wednesday, according to reports. 
Thirty three commercial banks including four state-owned banks donated the money to the museum for conducting its activities including research on the liberation war
In her speech, Sheikh Hasina lauded the role of the Liberation War Museum in projecting the correct history of the heroic war of the Bengali nation and protecting the history from distortion. 
Lauding various programs of BAB, Sheikh Hasina said the donation to the museum will help preserve the true history of liberation war. She also thanked the bankers for the contribution in various crisis of the nation including helping the families of deceased army officials after BDR carnage last year. 
Among others, Finance Minister A M A Muhith, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman and BAB Chairman Md Nazrul Islam Mazumder also spoke on the occasion. 
Trustee of Liberation War Museum Mofidul Haq and chairmen of different banks were present.
