Mumbai, India (BBN) – The release of Salman Khan-starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan has lifted shares of Eros International and PVR, reports NDTV.
Shares of Eros International were up as much as 5.0 per cent at day’s high of Rs 636. Eros has the global distribution rights of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the company had earlier said in a release to BSE. Shares of multiplex operator PVR also rose nearly 4 per cent at its day’s high of Rs 787.
Bollywood has high hopes from Salman Khan’s Eid release Bajrangi Bhaijaan which hit more than 5,000 screens across 50 countries. Salman Khan’s earlier releases like Kick, Ek Tha Tiger, Bodyguard, and Dabangg were big box office success. Salman Khan is also the co-producer of Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a tweet said that Bajrangi Bhaijaan has all it takes to “win hearts and emerge a box-office bonanza”.
Another trade expert, Mumbai-based Rajesh Thadani, also said that “Bajrangi Bhaijaan will break Salman’s earlier records”.
“Overseas too, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is releasing in a record number of screens…Salman has a big fan following overseas,” he added.
Directed by Kabir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan also features Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Harshaali Malhotra and Om Puri.
At 12:35 p.m., shares of Eros International were up 4.6 per cent at Rs 632 as compared to a flat Nifty. PVR shares traded nearly 3.0 per cent higher.
