Khulna, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh have earned their first Test drawn against Pakistan after the record opening stand in first Test in Khulna on Saturday.
The opening partnership of Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes that continued from fourth day guided Bangladesh to take lead against Pakistan.
Bangladesh scored 555 runs with 6 losses in 136 overs at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna of Bangladesh.
Of the score, Tamim’s added 206 while Imrul 150.
On day fourth, Tamim and Imrul – scored centuries, against the touring Pakistan in the second innings.
At the end of the fourth day of the test, the host scored 273 without any loss.
In the first Inning Bangladesh scored 332.
Trailing the score Pakistan took a lead of 296 run, scoring 628 runs all out in their first innings on the fourth day of the Khulna Test.
Of the scored, Hafiz’s 224 run put Pakistan on the top.
Asad Shafiq and Sarfraz Ahmed are now at the crease.
Today’s match opened with Hafiz and Azhar as they were unbeaten in day two’s stumps.
In the second day, Pakistan limited Bangladesh to 332.
The hosts scored the total losing all wickets in 120 overs.
Shakib (25) plunged early in day 2 followed by and Soumya (33), Rahim (32), Taijul (1), Shahid (10) and Rubel (2).
In day 1 on Tuesday, Tamim was removed for 25, Imrul for 51, Mahmudullah for 49 and Mominul for 80.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh ended their day on 236/4 against visiting Pakistan.
Prior to beginning of the Test match on April 28, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. The match will end today.
Pakistan have an unassailable 7-0 record over Bangladesh in Test matches, but all of that has come under severe threat after the outcome of the ODI series and the one-off T20.
Tamim and Kayes to open for the hosts while Junaid Khan for Pakistan.
Three slips, gully, shortish leg 9.30 am Bangladesh win the toss and will bat first.
This is the Test debuts for Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Shahid, and also for Sami Aslam while no Saeed Ajmal.
Bangladesh are preferring the all-round skills of both Sarkar and Shuvagata Hom. That is a deep batting line-up.
