Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has urged the government to extend the deadline for the submission of income tax returns until October 31.

Acting president of FBCCI M Jasim Uddin made the appeal saying that most of the individual taxpayers are not being able to submit their returns by the September 30 deadline due to the holy Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The last date for the submission of income tax returns is September 30 and the government has already announced that the deadline would not be extended in any circumstance.

Earlier, the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and several other organizations sent written appeals to the chairman of the National Board of Revenue asking for the extension.
