Bangladesh Bank withdraws BDT22.50bn from market

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Bangladesh Bank (BB) withdrew BDT 22.50 billion from the market through its 30-day bills and reverse REPO auctions on Monday, officials said.
 

Only one bid amounting to BDT 1.55 billion was offered and the bid was accepted. The rate of weighted average yield of the accepted bid was 6.70 percent.
 

Besides, five bids of 1-day tenor amounting total of BDT 20.95 billion were received and all the bids were accepted. The rate of interest of reverse REPO was 5.25 percent.
 

On the other hand, the central bank injected BDT 500 million using special REPO auction on the same day.
 

One bid of 1-day tenor amounting to BDT 910 million was received as Special REPO and bid of 1-day tenor amounting to BDT 500 million was accepted. The rate of interest of Special REPO was 10.25 percent.
