Bangladesh to carry out new bus route between Dhaka and Kolkata

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh government has approved the draft of an agreement for the new bus service between Dhaka and Kolkata via Khulna.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday approved the draft of the agreement, reports India Today.
The traffic continues on Dhaka-Kolkata route via Benapol, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters after the meeting.
This agreement will be introduced on the bus route Dhaka-Khulna-Kolkata.
The cabinet has approved the matter.
The Secretary said, the vehicle goes to Kolkata via Bangabandhu Bridge, Hatikumrul and Benapole.
The new route includes Mawa, Gopalganj, Bagerhat, Khulna Rupsha river, Khulna and will reduce the distance of 96 kilometres between Benapole and Kolkata.
When asked, the cabinet secretary said, the new route will run after the contract is made.
This agreement may be before or after the prime minister's visit to India.
He said the new bus route service will be inaugurated through a video conference after the agreement.
The two buses will leave from Dhaka and Kolkata on the opening session.
