Bangladesh cricketer Shahadat Hossain gets bail in torture case

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh fast bowler Shahadat Hossain has been granted bail by the country's High Court.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain granted Shahadat bail till March 31, following Shahadat filing a petition, reports ESPNcricinfo.
Shahadat's wife Jesmine Jahan Nrittya had already been granted bail on December 1.
On September 7, the Dhaka police registered a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act against Shahadat and his wife on charges of assaulting their housemaid.
Less than a week later, the BCB temporarily suspended him.
On October 5, Shahadat surrendered to the court of Metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Yusuf Hossain and was arrested on the same day.
After he had completed a three-day remand, he was sent back to jail, on October 13.
