Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The second edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo is being organized by two organizations separately that has created confusion among apparel markers, buyers, retailers and participants.

The Denimsandjeans.com, an India-based news portal and the Denim Expert Limited, a Chittagong-based company, are organizing the expo in the middle of October and November respectively at a same hotel in the capital Dhaka.

“We cannot understand why the two business entities are organizing the same exhibition separately,” a leading apparel exporter told BBN while replying to a query relating to the expo.

He also raised question about the organizer’s commitment on promoting the denim sub-sector through organizing such events.

The Denim Expert Limited has already announced that they are organizing the show to popularise the denim products around the world. Their show is scheduled to be held on November 11-12.

Our second event shall be an extension of the last event and we hope to bring in the some of the best in the denim industry together again,” Sandeep Agarwal, the founder at Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh show said in a statement.

The Denimsandjeans.com is expecting a high turnout of brands, buying houses, apparel entrepreneurs, fashion professionals, stakeholders and related companies in technology, chemicals, piece dyes of the industry from Europe, US, UK and several Asian countries.

Mostafiz Uddin, managing director of Denim Expert Limited, earlier said the aim of the expo is to showcase Bangladeshi denim brands to the global market and to make Bangladesh a ‘one-stop sourcing platform’ for denim. “Our primary objective is to create a platform for Denim producers with which all will be benefitted.”

The first edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo was held at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka on March 1-2. It was organized by the Denimsandjeans.com in association with the Denim Expert Limited.
