Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The sixth edition of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh is set o be held in the capital Dhaka on October 5-6 aiming to create a global platform for denim community.
The theme for the upcoming event is "vintage recall, denim goes back to its roots".
After five successful events, this international denim exhibition hopes to live up to the already high expectations for it’s the latest edition.
This semiannual denim show provides a platform where the global denim community comes together with an objective to share, interact and to establish future transactions with suppliers of Bangladesh.
There is a strong trend towards going into the past and looking for denim characteristics which the jeans had in early 1900s – the color, the slubs, the weave, the looks.
The current production of denim involves a high technology in spinning, weaving and finishing and the industry is looking at possibilities of giving the vintage character on the outside while using the high technology inside the fabric.
The show does not limit itself to an exhibition format; rather it is an event with many activities running on the sidelines.
The last show had a an exclusive European styled Fashion show which also brought out a very interesting competition among the students of fashion universities of Bangladesh and their products first time on the ramp for an international audience.
The show this time will have couple of Seminars by International denim experts and veterans where they will share their ideas on the different prospects of Denim.
With their limited number of exhibitors from around the world, Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh always managed to bring more and more global buyers, brands and retailers to their shows with an objective to highlight the strength of Bangladeshi denim industry which is growing very strongly.
It has already provided 50 per cent more denim to the European Union (EU) than China.
By 2020, it is expected that global market size at denim industries will be US$ 64.1 billion out of which more than 70 per cent could come from Asia.
And Bangladesh is becoming the most important nation among the Asian countries.
“Keeping these statistics in the mind, this show really helps to bring the global denim industry at the same podium for serious business,” the organizers said in a statement.
“Bangladesh has a huge potential in the textile, especially in denim and in past few years it has been growing by leaps and bounds. Our Objective has been always to show the world the immense opportunity in Bangladesh through our denim shows,” Sandeep Agarwal, founder of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh, explained.
