Bangladesh develops 5,000 websites for administration

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The government has developed about 5,000 web portals for the middle and lower tiers of administration to deliver online services to the people replacing the yesteryear system, officials said.
Of the total 24,000 web portals, the UNDP-funded Access to Information (A2I) Program of Prime Minister's Office has already developed the websites under the National Portal Framework (NPF) with a free-web-hosting by the government for launching it by December this year, they said.
National Project Director of A2I Md Nazrul Islam Khan, who is supervising the development of the total 24,000 web portals, said they are now scrutinizing the information and contents inserted in about 5,000 portals of unions, upazilas (sub-district) and districts and the challenges to be faced after launching of the web portals.
