Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Bangladesh government has asked the relevant state bodies to reserve 30 per cent space in the country’s economic and export-processing zones for women entrepreneurs, an official said on Tuesday.
The Industries Ministry official who declined to be named said Bangladeshi Prime Minister’s Office made the decision at a meeting, reports Ghana News quoting Xinhua.
Also at the meeting, relevant government bodies including Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) have been instructed for further steps in this regard, he said.
The official said the government is setting up a special economic zone exclusively for women entrepreneurs to pave the way for their participation in more economic activities.
