Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Bangladesh government has extended the deadline for registration of online news portal till January 31, 2016.
"All the online news portals have to submit the duly filled up registration form along with other necessary papers by January 31, 2016," said an official handout of the Bangladesh government on Monday.
After scrutinising all documents, the authorities concerned will issue registration.
The Press Information Department (PID) has started online newspaper registration process to check yellow journalism and ensure government supports for the publishers.
Online news portals, which are already in function, have to apply for registration, the handout added.
Publishers of all online newspapers have to fill in specific forms, and sign affidavits and submit those to the department.
The forms are available at the department's protocol branch and also on its website: www.pressinform.portal. gov.bd.
