Bangladesh for concluding international binding on climate change

New York, NY (BBN)- Bangladesh Foreign Minister  A. H. Mahmood Ali has emphasized on the need to conclude an international binding document regarding climate change.
The minister made the observation when he met his Australian counterpart Ms. Julie Bishop in New York on Monday, according to a foreign ministry statement.
At the meeting the Bangladesh foreign briefed his Australian counterpart about the challenges Bangladesh is facing with regard to climate change.
Australian foreign minister highly appreciated Bangladesh’s contribution to Bali process, the statement added.
Australian foreign minister also extolled Bangladesh’s unique contribution to the UN as one of the highest troops contributing countries of the world. Bangladesh foreign minister informed her that Bangladesh has also the highest level of representation of female police in the UN peacekeeping missions.  
She expressed her government’s special interest to the Indian Ocean Rim and hoped that this will promote sustainable development.  She invited Bangladesh to participate at the Ministerial meeting of IOR which is scheduled to be held next month.
