Bangladesh gets $2.10 million export order from GITEX-2008

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladeshi information technology (IT) companies got US$2.10 million export order by taking part in the five-day GITEX-2008 trade fair.

The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX-2008) was held at the World Trade Centre in Dubai between October 19 and October 23, according to a press statement.

Five IT companies took part in the fair under the auspices of Export Promotion Bureau.

IT products like software, hospital management system, banking management system and other IT solution were exhibited at the fair.

Bangladeshi companies took part in the fair with a view to expanding the export market within the Middle-East and the North African region by exhibiting recently-developed local IT products.

About 124312 persons from 137 countries visited the fair.

The Bangladesh participants had series of business meetings and exchange of views with a large number of buyers, agents and visitors for developing future business relation.
