Bangladesh govt borrows BDT 14bn issuing T-bills

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh government borrowed BDT 14 billion through issuing treasury bills (T-bills) on Sunday, officials said.
 

Total 30 bids of BDT 14.8878 billion for 91-Day T-bills and 26 bids of BDT 8.9741 billion for 364-Day T-bills were offered.
 

Of those, 11 bids of BDT 7.50 billion for 91-Day T-bills and 15bids of BDT 6.50 billion for 364-Day T-bills were accepted.
 

The range of the implicit yield of the accepted bid was 7.27-7.35 percent and 7.79-7.99 percent respectively, according to the auction result.
 

Currently, three T-bills are being transacted through auctions to adjust the government's borrowing from the banking system. The T-bills have 91-day, 182-day and 364-day maturity periods.
