Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh’s overall import payment increased by more than 11 per cent in this October from that of the previous month, officials said on Wednesday.
The settlement of letters of credit (LCs), generally known as actual import, rose to US$ 3.15 billion in October 2014 from $2.84 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to the central bank statistics.
Opening of fresh LCs, generally known as import orders, increased by 9.14 per cent to $3.05 billion in this October from $2.79 billion in the same period of 2013.
