Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The first meetings of the India-Bangladesh-Bhutan working group on water and power and the working group on transit and connectivity will be held in the capital Dhaka on Thursday and Friday respectively.
The maiden meeting of the working group on water and power is expected to enhance cooperation amongst the participating countries in sharing the waters of common rivers, explore the possibilities of common basin management of common rivers and harness the advantages of sub-regional cooperation in the hydroelectric power sector, an Indian High Commission statement said in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The first meeting of the working group on transit and connectivity will focus on the implementation of measures for the up-gradation of road and railway networks among the participating countries leading to enhanced connectivity, trade, movement of goods and services as well as people-to-people contacts.
