Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The home secretary level talks between Bangladesh and India will focus on further expanding and strengthening mutual cooperation in the security and border related issues and capacity building of Bangladesh police.
The 13th round of home secretary level meeting will be held at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel on October 15-17, officials said.
The Indian delegation consists of senior officers of home ministry, external affairs ministry, narcotics control bureau and border security force, an Indian High Commission announcement said in the capital Dhaka.
Indian Home Secretary RK Singh will lead a 10-member delegation to hold talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart CQK Mustaq Ahmed.
During his visit in Dhaka, Indian home secretary is likely to call on Foreign Minister, Home Minister, Minister for Disaster Management and Relief and Commerce Minister.
The Indian home secretary along with his Bangladesh counterpart will also visit Agartala- Akhaura border outposts to review the state of infrastructure along the Bangladesh-India border.
The home secretary level talks will be preceded by a meeting of the Bangladesh-India Joint Working Group (JWG) on security on October 15. Shambhu Singh, Joint Secretary (NE) and Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Police) of Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh, will lead the respective Indian and Bangladesh delegation to the JWG meeting, according to the announcement.
The last meeting of the Home Secretaries between India and Bangladesh was held on November 19-21, 2011 in New Delhi.
