Bangladesh-India maritime verdict awaiting announcement

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Bangladesh government will disclose the much-awaited verdict on the maritime boundary dispute between Bangladesh and its neighbour India Tuesday.

Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali will reveal the judgement of the Netherlands-based Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) at a press briefing in the afternoon, ministry sources said.

The court had delivered its verdict on Monday and sent the copy of it to the respective governments.

According to the arbitration court’s moratorium, the verdict cannot be disclosed for 24 hours that will end on Tuesday.
