Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Bangladesh government launched 25 apps Wednesday to improves its service to the people.
The information revealed during a press conference held by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) at its office in Agargaon of Dhaka, reports hifipublic.
The ceremony was titled “Jonogoner Aro Kache” and Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present at the ceremony as the chief guest.
Representatives of various IT organisations were also present at the ceremony.
“The government determined to deliver a wide range of information and services to the people of Bangladesh through Mobile applications. After the start of mobile 3G technology, handheld smartphones have become commonplace among the youth of our country,” said Zunaid Ahmed Palak said at the conference.
“To make sure they make productive use of these smartphones, we will need a lot of applications. The government is encouraging private companies to produce more apps while at the same time work towards providing more and more of the various ministries and initiatives services though mobile applications,” he said.
Among the 25 applications that is launched, there is – Right to Information Law, Driving License Information, BHBFC Loan Calculator, Nazrul Giti, Dhaka Zoo, Government Services, Copyright Law, Archaeology of Bangladesh, Public Library, Textile Calculator, Prize Bond, FDC, Bangladesh National Stadium, Constitution of 72, Hospital Finder, Drug abuse and Youth Offences, Immunization Alert, Insect Control of Crop, Roof Gardening and many others. All these applications can be found at the Google Play Store as well as the corresponding ministry website.
Its good to see the government taking a step in the right direction. Bangladesh doesn’t just need more mobile applications, but useful and productive mobile applications. And that, is the message the government is conveying to the public through the release of these new apps.
