Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The central bank of Bangladesh has launched a mobile application –Banking Information –which will help clients to get information about all banking services.

The app is now available for downloading and using at Google Play Store for android users.

The app has been developed jointly by the Bangladesh Bank (BB), the country’s central bank, information system development department and a private firm, Innovation Team.

BB governor Fazle Kabir inaugurated the operation of the application from the launching programme held at the central bank headquarters in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.

BB deputy governors SK Sur Chowdhury and SM Moniruzzaman, senior officials of the central bank and managing directors of several private commercial banks were present at the programme.

The app will allow users to know the geographical locations of any banks and their ATM booths along with all the services offered by the banks.

Apart from getting information about the locations of banks and ATM booths, the users through the application will be able to know about the services offered by the central bank along with accessing results of prize bonds, techniques to identify fake currency, national savings certificate form, investment bond, foreign exchanges, payment systems and credit information bureau related information.

The application will also offer information about agent banking, SME activities and mobile financial services, according to the BB officials.
